Blaine students earn top honors

Blaine middle school student Taylor V’Dovec was recently honored at a statewide awards ceremony for gifted children held by The Johns Hopkins University Center for Talented Youth (CTY).

Taylor V’Dovec was invited to the award ceremony based on an exceptional performance on a rigorous, above-grade-level test given to second through eighth grade Talent Search participants.  

V'Dovec, who attends Blaine middle school, joined other award recipients at the recent state ceremony, and was individually honored by Johns Hopkins for her academic performance and promise.

CTY draws students from 50 states and DC, as well as students from almost 120 countries.

Blaine high school graduate Chelsea Crews was among 683 students named to the Gonzaga University Dean’s List for spring semester 2009. Students must earn a 3.5 to 3.69 grade-point average to be listed.

Blaine high school graduate Kevin Hastings graduated cum laude with a law degree from the Seattle University School of Law in May.
