West Marine earns store of the year
By Jack Kintner
Blaine’s West Marine Express was recognized as district store of the year earlier this year according to their Western region manager Jim Abel.
“Being selected as a store of the year in our chain is based on outstanding results. The Blaine store under Debbie Morley exemplified leadership, understanding the customer, motivating a team and involving themselves in the community,” Abel said.
“We have always tried to maintain a high level of service, friendliness, community involvement as well as getting in a variety of products. We even have bicycles!” said Morley. “West Marine measures all the numbers, looks at the growing success we’ve had over 5 years and also looks at the community response to a store and Blaine has always gotten high marks from their customers. This is a huge honor for us to be named district store of the year for 2008 since we are competing with much larger boating communities like Anacortes and Port Townsend. I’d like to thank our customers whose loyalty is what keeps us here in Blaine!”
West Marine opened the store five years ago at 439 Peace Portal Drive in Blaine. For more information call 332-1918.
