A local outreach group formed by the Whatcom County Habitat For Humanity organization is looking for members to help nominate eligible Blaine and Birch Bay families for home ownership.

Associate executive director Terry Mattson said the eight-member group helps organize support from the community for Habitat For Humanity projects as well as serve as a selection committee for housing applicants. The next meeting is 8 a.m. Tuesday, April 7 on the top floor of the Banner Bank building at 435 Martin Street.
Those looking to apply for housing can attend an informational meeting at 7 p.m. Thursday, April 16, at the United Church of Christ at 885 Fourth Street in Blaine.

Individuals interested in donating through cash or in-kind donations or in volunteering can also join HFH’s Carpenter’s Club.
