The folks at the Blaine Senior Center seem very glad to be back after being snowbound for a few days. Because of the snow and ice the center was closed. When the Blaine schools are closed on school days, the center is also closed. Falling on snow and ice is not considered healthy.
Get ready for a happy New Year! Be sure your membership dues are paid this month. There are many exciting activities at the center to those over 50 and nobody should miss out. With your membership many programs and activities are available throughout the entire year. Come on in and enjoy the fellowship and interesting things to do. There is a wide variety, and include Bible studies, bocce (weather permitting), bridge, china painting, creative writing, painting, pool, Scrabble and other table games, strength training, and stretch exercise and yoga in February.
Our next class for the strength training class is scheduled for February 3. In order for one to use the Cybex Strength Training equipment, one must be a member of the senior center and have completed the training course provided. Sign up at the front desk if you are interested in participating in the course and have your physician sign a physician’s clearance form. The fee for this course is $60.
You may also be interested in a Tai Chi class. If so, sign up at the desk for Tai Chi classes in February. Remember to celebrate Valentine Day, by joining the merriment at the center on February 12. Everyone is a valentine at senior center parties.
Senior center participant surveys for 2008 are located at the front desk.
If you have been a participant in 2008, remember to complete this survey. Your response is vital to the success of the center in serving our community. These are due by January 31.
Have a happy New Year, make yours happy, and ours also, join us in the fun and fellowship.
