2008 In Review
Birch Bay Chamber of Commerce
By Lisa Guthrie
2008 was an outstanding year for the Birch Bay community and we look forward to a challenging and rewarding 2009.
This past year we enjoyed the benefits of having our own community sheriff’s deputy Clifford Langley; saw the completion of the Berk Report on incorporation; the opening of several new businesses; and the move of the Birch Bay Chamber Visitors Information Center to the center beach – where it belongs! The new office is at 7900 Birch Bay Drive, next to CJ’s Beach House restaurant. Stop by or call for information about our area and our fantastic business community.
The newly elected board of directors is here to serve with enthusiasm, skill and innovation. The community will benefit from the many upcoming projects – such as new marketing materials and a brand new website. Please look for the launch of the all new www.BirchBayChamber.com in early January.
Even in these tough economic times, we find reasons to be thankful; for the ability to live and work in such a glorious place, and for friends and families who sustain our souls and warm our hearts.
We invite you and encourage you to shop and act locally – support your community businesses, it truly does make a difference. Our new motto for 2009 is “Celebrate Birch Bay: Warm Water, Warm People” and we are!
And as we celebrate the holidays we are reminded of the end of the year approaching and the promise of the New Year. We invite you to participate in the chamber events celebrating Birch Bay and the New Year - the 5th Ring of Fire and Hope on New Year’s Eve and the 26th Annual Polar Bear Plunge on New Year’s Day!Blessings of the season and the new year!
