Math students win big

Congratulations to the Blaine middle school math teams that competed in the Whatcom County math competition this weekend.

• The 6th grade team included David Shapiro, John Cochran, and Nick Butschli finished 4th place in the 6th grade team competition.

• Nick Butschli finished 4th place in the 6th grade individual competition.

• Blaine middle school 7th grader, Tyler Kelly, earned 4th place in the 7th grade individual competition.

• The 8th grade team consisting of Emily Steelquist, Magda Stickel, Charisse DeBelen, and Jaclyn Adams finished 2nd place in the 8th grade team competition.

• Emily Steelquist earned 1st place in the 8th grade individual competition for all of Whatcom County.
