Local woman publishes book series

By Tara Nelson

Everson resident and author Lisa Dunster Moeller, creator of the book series Common Threads Journals, has scheduled two local book signings for her newest journaling book Celebrating the Holidays, as part of the journal series.

Dunster Moeller, an administrative specialist at the Blaine police department, said the journal series was originally inspired by a desire to help some close friends who experienced such traumatic events as a divorce and the loss of a child. Her first book, Healing a Life Unraveled, was published in March and she said the book’s success encouraged her to expand the concept into a series.

Dunster Moeller said Celebrating the Holidays is a creative way to share the rich and meaningful experiences of the holidays with family and friends and to inspire people to renew their sense of connectedness to one another. She added that by reaching out to others through universal experiences, she believes individuals can learn to celebrate the things that unite.

A brief and personal introduction yields to roughly 300 blank pages for individuals to share their experiences through writing. By inviting the authors to pass it along, she said she hopes it will provide a way for people to connect with others.

The journal signings are scheduled for 7 p.m., Wednesday, November 21 at Village Books in Bellingham, and from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, December 1 at Blaine Bouquets as part of the Harbor Lights celebrations.

Dunster Moeller said she plans several more journals in the series. She is currently working on a journal for recording life’s milestone moments and a journal for creating lasting connections between loved ones who are separated by distance.

Healing a Life Unraveled ($14.99) and Celebrating the Holidays ($17.95) are available by visiting www.lisadunstermoeller.com, by visiting www.storybookacrespress.com, or at Amazon.com. The books are also available locally at Blaine Bouquets, Bayside Beauty Salon and Village Books.
