Local candidates forum October 16

The Northern Light will sponsor a candidate’s forum for local political races this month.

The forum is scheduled for 7 p.m. Tuesday, October 16 at the Blaine Community Center on H Street across from the Blaine school campus.
Members of the public are invited to attend and encouraged to ask questions of candidates running for contested positions.

Contested positions include Blaine school district where Chuck Green and Campbell McClusky are running for district 1 and Blaine city council where David Gallion is running against Jason Overstreet.

County positions that are contested include Pete Kremen and Lois Garlick for county executive and county treasurer which is being fought over by Joe Elenbaas and Steve Oliver.

Candidates running for the Fire District 21 commissioner position 3 candidates are Roger Hawley and Kathy Stauffer.

Candidates running for non-contested positions have been invited.
