Expect road delays this week?
The Washington State Department of Transportation will begin paving sections of Blaine Road (SR 548) between Grandview and Fleet Roads this week, department officials said.
Department spokesperson Dustin Terpening said drivers should be prepared for lane closures and delays of up to 10 minutes from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday during unspecified days between now and September.
“Drivers should expect crews to be out there working on the road any day during the next two months,” he said. “It should be done by mid-September.”
Crews will resurface sections of the highways with a combination of oil and loose rock, a less expensive alternative to hot-mix asphalt paving .WSDOT crews expect to finish by September of this year.
