Liebert wins mayors’ race against violence

Blaine mayor John Liebert won the mayors’ race to end domestic violence at a Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault Services gala last week.

Blaine businesses donated more than $1,400 worth of donations from Blaine businesses to create a gift basket, which was auctioned at the event. Liebert raced along with mayors from Bellingham, Lynden, Ferndale and Sumas to deliver their basket of goods to the winner.
The auction raised approximately $34,000, which will go toward the Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault Services of Whatcom County.
