Election results remain mostly unchanged
Election results for Whatcom County and the city of Blaine continue to be tight, but generally remain unchanged since last week.
In
the race for Blaine City Council’s Ward
3 seat, Jason Overstreet remains ahead with 412 votes
(52%), while his opponent, incumbent Bob Brunkow is trailing
closely behind with 374 votes (48%).
Meanwhile, Charles Hawkins, a candidate for council’s
at-large position, is leading the race with 405 votes (54%),
over his opponent Jason Burke, a construction manager who
received 347 votes (46%).
In the race for Whatcom County Council, incumbent Laurie
Caskey-Schreiber, vying for the council’s District
2 position, continues to have a firm lead over her opponent
Craig Mayberry with 17,971 votes (54%). Mayberry, an economics
professor at Whatcom Community College and a fiscal conservative,
received 15,138 votes (46%) as of Tuesday.
Incumbent
Seth Fleetwood continues to lead over his opponent Gary
Lysne for the council’s at-large seat with 16,544
votes (51%). Lysne received 15,829 votes (49%).
Also, pipeline safety advocate Carl Weimer is still leading
realtor Mike Kent in the race for the council’s District
3 seat with 17,050 votes (52%). Kent received 15,490 votes,
(48%).
