Bunger found not guilty
Following a nearly two-week long trial in Whatcom County Superior Court, a jury found Jason D. Bunger not guilty last Thursday in the death of a 20-month old Blaine boy in February.
Whatcom County prosecutors tried Bunger, 30, with charges of manslaughter in the first degree, in the death of in the death of Zakory Commissaris, who he had, on several occasions, babysat.
The charge carries a maximum prison sentence of life to 20 years with fines as much as $50,000.
On February 4, Bunger dropped off an unconscious Zakory at St. Joseph Hospital in Bellingham with marks and bruises on his body and two major blunt impact injuries on his head.
The boy died of head injuries caused, according to Bunger, after the child fell out of bed.
McEachran said while he will live with the jury’s
