Blaine window coverings business has new office

By Tara Nelson

Regina Bailey, co-owner of All About Covering Windows, has done a lot of things.

Bailey, who was born in Germany and has lived in several other countries, was once the marketing manager of the Bellingham Business Journal, a truck driver in Louisiana and a bar manager on San Juan Island in Puerto Rico – just to name a few – but she has always called the Northwest home.

“I was tired of the snakes and the heat and the bugs in Florida,” she said. “I missed my home.”

Bailey and her husband moved to Blaine in 1999, however, she spent several years of her youth living in British Columbia.

Today, she and her husband Gary install beautiful window coverings in Blaine and surrounding areas – most recently, the window coverings at Big Al’s Diner.

Their new office is located in the Townsquare Building at 399 H Street, Suite five, on the corner of H and 4th streets and offers free in-home consultations on a selection of styles, colors of custom window coverings and treatments.

She said she hopes to have a showroom within the next couple of months.

A couple of years ago, a friend, whom Bailey knew from church, asked her to start a window drapery business together because of her background in marketing.

The partnership, however, dissolved when the two had conflicting visions of where they wanted the business to go.

When Bailey quit the partnership, she started a slightly different business – vinyl, wood fabric and aluminum window coverings.

“Anything is possible with window coverings just as anything is possible in fashion,” she said. “It’s all a matter of taste and I think it’s my job to help people get what they like.”
