Did you know that the Blaine Library carries 145 different magazine subscriptions, and all but the latest issue may be checked out for three weeks?
In the news category alone, you can find Time, Newsweek and Utne. To appeal to the wide scope of political thought throughout the community, this coming year we’ve added The Week, Reason, and World Magazine.
New travel related magazines for 2005 include Arrington’s Inn Traveler, Latitudes and Attitudes, and RV Companion. Animal lovers will enjoy Best Friends and Bird Watcher’s Digest. Local artists might appreciate Computer Arts, International Artist, ReadyMade, The Quilter Magazine, or Guitar One. Various new special interest magazines include: Flight Journal, Golf Digest, 4-Wheel & Off-Road, Washington Fishing & Hunting News, and Wild West.
Claremont
Review of Books now offers additional literary commentary
for those seeking an alternative to The New York
Times Book Review.
Homeschoolers will delight to know that Mary Pride’s
Practical Homeschooling Magazine has been added to
the collection. There will be two new subscriptions of
Reader’s
Digest, one in large type and the other in Russian.
Teens,
come in and check out Action Pursuit Games, X-Box Magazine,
Transworld Snowboarding, Simpsons Comics, Justine, and
Plugged In. New for the younger crowd is American Cheerleader
Junior.
