Imagine Nation: a great place to be

Blaine Community Theater is offering Imagine Nation, acting classes open for registration beginning October 1 for kids ages five to 10. Session one will enhance children’s acting ability, character building, self-esteem and teamwork through imagination exercises and acting games. The workshop encourages personal expression, writing skills, and concentration. At the end of the session, an on-stage performance will be presented for family and friends. The classes will be held Mondays from 3:45 – 5:15 p.m.

Session two is an advanced teen acting class for ages 11 – 17. The young actor begins to grapple with “serious theater,” studying and performing scenes and monologues from contemporary and classic plays and learning to develop both comic and serious characters. The classes will be held Wednesdays from 3:45 – 5:15 p.m.

Cost for each session is $20 per month with full scholarships available. Location of the sessions will be at the Blaine Community Theater.
Enjoying Movies: Watch and discuss movies the first and third Saturdays at 2:30 p.m. beginning October 1. Learn how good acting, skilled directing, sharp editing, and a solid screenplay work together to create a great film. All ages welcomed and encouraged. The cost is $5 per person.

Parents Night Out! Kids ages five to 12 can take a break from their parents every first and third Friday from 6 – 10:30 p.m. beginning October 1.

The program features arts and crafts, games, a pizza dinner and a movie. Participants must arrive by 6:15 p.m. to participate. The cost is $15 per child (sibling discount available). A $5 deposit is required to reserve your space. Minimum number of participants is seven.
