Get set for a big fundraising party

The Blaine Boys and Girls Club’s biggest fundraiser of the year is coming up and is looking to surpass the success of last year’s event. Set for Saturday, August 7, the seventh annual dinner and dance will be held at the Blaine Harbor building, beginning at 5 p.m.

Formerly known as Dance By The Dock, the organizers have changed the name of the event to Bid For Kids and promise even more fun times for everyone. “We want to place the real emphasis on the dinner and auction at this year’s event,” said unit director Greg Tillotson.

Committee chairperson Jeff Green said that the club has made plans to entertain 200 people at this year’s dinner and auction. “We are looking to double last year’s attendance and I think we can do it.” Sundance Beef and Kelly’s O’Deli will be providing the food.
Tickets are available now by calling the club at 332-3008. A business or individual can buy an entire table of 10 for $275. Couples tickets are available for $50 and single tickets can be purchased for $30.
Each ticket holder receives a bidder packet which includes a bidder number, two complimentary drink tickets to the no host bar, and an auction catalog.
