New health care professional in town

By Meg Olson

The most interesting people are often the most bizarre, said John Plummer, the most recent addition to Blaines community of health care professionals.

A licensed state counselor, Plummer has a Masters degree in marriage and family therapy from Montana State University.

I work with children, youth, adults, couples and families, Plummer said. I do well with relationship issues, and with depressed and anxious people.

Plummer recently relocated from Seattle to Blaine. We live on a boat and this is a great marina, he said of the move. During the last five years in Seattle Plummers practice focused on domestic violence, parent education and anger management. He is now pursuing his doctoral degree in clinical psychology through Seattle Pacific University and is looking for local clients to start building a practice in Blaine and Birch Bay, covering mental health concerns from eating disorders to managing chronic pain.

For an initial appointment contact Plummer at 332-1553.
