Humane Society seeking food, toy donations

The Whatcom Humane Society (WHS) is seeking donations of unopened bags and cans of dog and cat food as well as dog and cat treats and toys.

Donated food is used to feed sheltered animals and is also distributed at community food banks throughout the county including the Bellingham food bank, Bellingham Meals on Wheels, Blaine food bank and the Lummi Nation community center.

Donations may be dropped off at the shelter Tuesday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. The Whatcom Humane Society is located at 3710 Williamson Way in Bellingham.

The Whatcom Humane Society is the oldest non-profit animal welfare organization in Whatcom County. Last year, WHS provided care for over 2,800 unwanted, abused and abandoned animals.

All donations are tax deductible.
