School snow ride program heading to the big hill
The
Blaine school district Ski/Snowboard program, now called
the BSD Winter Ride Program is looking forward to a great
2003 winter season. The district is excited to get back
up to Mt. Baker and provide opportunities for Blaine students
by taking advantage of the winter recreation possibilities
in our back yard. We have had a great response to this years
Winter Ride Program. At this time the bus is filling up
fast.
Participation in the program is on a first come, first served
basis. There are still places available.
This year the dates for the program have changed. Blaine
will now participate in the Winter Ride Program at the regular
time (with other districts in our area), starting on January
11 and running for six Saturdays until February 15.
The bus will depart from the Blaine high school parking
lot at 6 a.m. and return at 5:30 p.m. Students will need
to arrange for drop-off and pick-up.
There will be a mandatory meeting for all interested participants
and their parents/guardians on Monday, November 25 at 7
p.m. in the Blaine middle school library.
You will be able to fill out the Mt. Baker ski area paperwork
and make payments at this time. This year, you can pay for
rentals and lessons via cash, check or major credit card.
The deadline for signing up for this years BSD Winter
Ride Program is December 4.
Information/sign up packets are available at Blaine middle
school and high school offices. If you have any questions
feel free to contact Kirke Mahy Hestad at 332-8226 (BMS)
or 332-6045 (BHS) or the Mt. Baker Ski Area office at 360-734-6771..
