Sail away...

Whatcom County Parks and Recreation is now offering sailing camps in Lakewood for children ages 11 to 17. Beginning, intermediate, and racing classes are available, each building on skills learned in previous classes. The only prerequisite for the beginning class is the ability to swim. Classes will be one week each, and cost $60. Only 10 spots are available per class.

The sailing camps are a part of the Teen Adventure Program. Other summer programs include a four-day Oregon skatepark tour, a three-day San Juan biking trip, and a three-day rock climbing camp, all in August. For more information and program start dates, call8 360/733-2900. .
