Stafholt grads keep on coming
Stafholt
Good Samaritan Centers nursing assistant certification
keeps pumping out the graduates. On April 18 four new nursing
assistants will get their certificates, and the next week
signups start for the next class.
At the last Stafholt graduation five new nursing assistants
represented the 30th graduating class of the training program.
Kirk Bottomley, Wendy Davis, Courtney Oberholtzer, Skye
Rock and Kristi Thorgeirson got their certificates at a
February 22 graduation.
According to program director Erika Werdal, more than 100
nursing assistants have learned their trade at Stafholt
since the program started ten years ago.
The class prepares them for the state board exam to
be certified as nursing assistants, after which they can
work in a variety of settings, from in-home care to hospitals,
Werdal said. Students spend 100 hours learning basic personal
care and recognizing health signs. The course costs $150.
Registration for the next class at Stafholt will be April
23 and classes start on April 24. For more information call
