Take a bite of this!
After
converting even the skeptics in a crowd of 250 at last years
Bite of Blaine event, organizers of this years event are
expecting more people and more variety for them to sample.
I heard over and over last year that people didnt
know there were so many restaurants in Blaine, said
Ed Magner of La Bonne Maison. The idea of the event is to
get all the restaurants in Blaine and Birch Bay together
and show their stuff.
So far more than a dozen restaurants are committed to have
booths at the February 11 event at Resort Semiahmoo, offering
everything from soup to deserts.
The addition this year of Birch Bay restaurants to the roster
means classic eateries like Drydock and Edrics will join
Blaine restaurants like Blackberry House, Portal Cafe and
Paso Del Norte. New this year are Stafholt Good Samaritan
Home and Cost Cutter.
Tickets for the event cost $20 and are available at Pacific
Building Center and the Pizza Factory in Blaine or Bank
Northwest in Birch Bay. The doors open at 6:30 p.m. for
cocktails. The food will start rolling out at 7 p.m.
Check The Northern Light next week for a list of participating restaurants.
