New degrees, honors for Blaine students

The following students from Whatcom Community College were appointed to the Dean’s List Fall Quarter 2001. Students are named to the Dean’s List for high scholastic achievement.
Blaine: Lynsey A. Barker, Sonia S. Beljean, Brian Chang, Andrea D. Dietzen, Ingemar A. Franzen, Caryn L. Heath, Nicolas R. Hoffman, Jeanine K. Lindbloom, Ronald D. Simoneau, Matt S. Taggart, Amber C. Walton, Michael R. Whitten and Rachel L. Williams.
Custer: Kerri L. Dekubber, Kathleen J. Kok, Aaron J. Kyllingmark, Rachel L.W. Lawson, Mark R. Loveday.

At Seattle Pacific University, three Blaine students were named to the Autumn quarter dean’s list for keeping their grade point averages high while taking a full course load: Haily Braumberger, Marcy Geinger and Amy Wildermuth.

The University of Washington has named six Blaine students to the dean’s list for Autumn Quarter 2001: Joseph Button and Kevin Hastings, freshmen, Alvin Chang, Brian Chang, Coby Lastuka and Summer Starr, seniors. To qualify for the list students must maintain a grade point average of at least 3.5 out of 4 and take at least 12 graded credits.

Western Washington University recently released the names of 422 graduates who earned their bachelor’s degrees or master’sdegrees and were awarded diplomas at the conclusion of summer quarter, 2001.
From the Blaine area, Donovan Gregory Pooran and Sandra Marie Rathburn earned Bachelor of Arts degrees, and Robb James Bouma earned a masters of education.
The following Blaine residents were awarded diplomas from Western Washington University at the conclusion of summer quarter, 2001: Donovan Pooran (BA); Robb Bouma (MED); and Sandra Rathbun (BA).
