The following students were named to the Western Washington University honor roll at the completion of winter quarter, 2001.
Of the 10,719 undergraduates enrolled at Western during winter quarter, 677 qualified for the honor roll (HR) with 174 receiving perfect 4.0 grade point averages (4.0 GPA).
A student must complete at least 14 graded credit hours during a quarter and be in the top 10 percent of his or her class to be named to the honor roll.

Blaine students Al Rizwan Ali, Tasha Michele
Kiemel, and Guy Kristjan Smith have been named to the Deans
List at University of Washington for winter quarter 2001.
To qualify for the Deans List, a student must have
completed at least 12 graded credits and have a grade point
average of at least 3.5 (out of 4). Students are notified
that they have achieved this distinction when they receive
their grades for the quarter.
Seattle Pacific University student Jonathan Gibson of Blaine has made the 2001 winter quarter Deans list. Students on the Deans List have completed at least 12 credits and attained a 3.5 or higher grade point average.
The Blaine school board has presented third grade teacher Jamie Kamrath with its first Cheryl Barnhardt Memorial Award.
The award, named for a longtime Blaine teacher who died prematurely in1999 after 27 years of teaching, will be given out periodically to teachers whose daily excellence might otherwise be overlooked, said school board member Jane Woods, who nominated Kamrath for the award.
Kamrath, who been a teacher in the Blaine school district for six years, was presented the award at the school board meeting March 26. She is currently on maternity leave.
