New Scout troop organized

American Legion Post 86 will be sponsoring a troop of local Boy Scouts, to be based at the legion hall at the intersection of Birch Bay/ Lynden Road and Blaine Road.

Chartered as Troop 86, the new troop will welcome scouts from the Blaine, Birch Bay and Custer areas. Ken Dahl has been appointed to lead efforts to get the new troop organized and is looking for men and women to serve on the troop steering committee.

Dahl is also looking for a scout master and two assistant scoutmasters. Tax-deductible donations are also welcome to get the new troop off to a good start. They can be sent to 4580 Legion Drive, Blaine, Washington, 98230.
