The Editor:
I am writing today on behalf of the Blaine chapter of North Whatcom County Young Life concerning a wonderful local business that many of us know and love: Paso Del Norte.
On October 26, Young Life hosted an informational fundraiser to showcase the fun, crazy and wonderful antics the organization does to reach young teens in many small areas of Whatcom County. Our chapter reached out to local restaurants in the hopes they would donate their services for the evening.  Paso Del Norte did not disappoint.
Miguel and his team went above and beyond by not only donating what was by far the most delicious dish, but Miguel himself served everyone with the friendly and welcoming smile that he is well known for. If you haven’t yet stopped in at this fine restaurant, I encourage you to do so and thank them for supporting their local
On behalf of the entire Blaine Young Life committee, we give a huge thank you to Paso Del Norte for their participation and support of our local chapter.

The Editor:
Saturday evening I decided to complete my democratic duty and vote. I have recently moved to Blaine and typically rely on the state/county voter’s pamphlet for information regarding the candidates in my area as much of the privately funded advertisements for candidates are swiftly directed to the recycling.
I would like to encourage all future candidates to submit their backgrounds and statements to help the public make informed decisions.
I would also like to thank candidates John Liebert and Harry Robinson for taking my phone call on a Saturday evening to explain their positions and help me make an informed decision.
