Letters to the Editor
It was a grand old parade...
The Editor:
The parade was a Parade of Pride. For all who
participated, many thanks. Blaine may be small, but large
on civic pride.

The
Editor:
It is time to try to thank everyone that helped to make
Blaines Old Fashioned 4th of July parade and entertainment
a success. Jerry Huls parade emcee did an outstanding
job
thank you. Caroleeann Jenkins, Sue Cushman, and
Elaine Murphy-the check in ladies
it never would
have happened without you
thank you. Our judges -
Sean Beaty, Cyndee Haines, Meg Olson, Larry Freeman, Jack
Kintner ... thank you.
There
were volunteers to escort the childrens parade, to
man the barricades, to drive our dignitaries, pick up tables,
and deliver PA equipment.
Also
a thank you goes out to Peace Arch park for use of the stage,
True Tone Audio, Mojo Music, Blaine Bouquets, and the C-Shop.
All of our entertainers volunteered their time and they
were great! We started with Sardis Wildlife, Rockerfellas,
Garys Project, Gloria Dawn, Rising Son, Bordertown,
and finished with Wildfire and their own Star Spangled Banner.
Special thank yous go out to Dawn White for organizing the
Restaurant Race. And again to Dawn White and Linda Hickman
who kept the beer garden going smoothly, Dana Werdal who
ran the Chalk Art contest and Lisa McKay for the kids games.
There are many more that pitched in to help coordinate the
music and the traffic and the power and the water and all
the necessities. Thank you one and all for making the 4th
such a great day.
