Choir students score big

The Blaine high school chamber choir and treble choir performed in the San Juan Music Educator’s Association Senior Choral Large Group Festival last March 25. The festival featured more than 30 high school choirs from Skagit, Whatcom and the San Juan Island counties. Two days later the Blaine middle school 7th grade and 8th grade choirs performed in a similar event.

Though the event is not a competition, both groups earned superior scores from all three judges. The festival director said their scores were the highest of all the middle school groups who had performed on either day of the festival.
