Big city quality. Small city convenience.
Now in its 23rd season, the Bellingham Festival of Music features outstanding orchestra and chamber music concerts, recitals, and master classes that reflect the full range of music and extraordinary artistry of the orchestra’s musicians, soloists, and Artistic Director Michael Palmer, who leads a Festival Orchestra composed of world class musicians from major North American orchestras. This season’s guest artists include cellist Lynn Harrell, violinist Cho-Liang Lin, the Calidore String Quartet, pianists Kuok-Wai Lio and Peter Serkin, and soprano Ilana Davidson. A free pre-concert lecture begins at 6:30 pm in the WWU PAC Concert Hall before each of the five orchestral concerts. The Calidore Quartet will perform in recital July 7 as well as solo ensemble with orchestra, July 9. In a popular and often sold-out performance and catered reception, orchestral musicians will perform Chamber Music-by-the-Bay at the Bellingham Cruise Terminal, July 10. Tickets may be purchased from the WWU Box Office.
