Blaine, Birch Bay to step-up water conservation
Following recent regulations imposed by the Washington State Department of Health, the city of Blaine and the Birch Bay Water and Sewer District (BBWSD) will adopt a series of measures to conserve local water.

Communication is biggest hurdle for 2010 Olympics
An increase of visitors as a result of the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver will likely pose a series of challenges for Whatcom County, but officials agreed the biggest hurdle will be maintaining adequate communication between local and federal agencies.

Merchants discuss downtown signage
Blaine’s downtown merchants met last week with city officials to discuss how to get freeway traffic that will be detoured through Blaine by construction projects to stick around and spend some money.
