Paul Rusesabagina, author of An Ordinary Man, spoke to a standing-room-only audience at Village Books on Saturday night. He detailed the heartbreaking story which was portrayed in the movie Hotel Rwanda. Rusesabagina, as a manager of a hotel in Kigali, sheltered more than 1,000 individuals during the Rwandan genocide. He said the only weapon he had to use was “words” and “dialog is the secret to success.” None of the people who became part of his “family” were beaten or killed while an estimated 1 million Rwandans lost their lives.
