March
6: Officers conducted a welfare check on an individual

his house. Although he complained about his health, he
declined medical assistance. He did agree to ride with
his wife to the hospital for a checkup.
March
5: The driver of a car was arrested and taken to jail
for possession of heroin after the drug and related paraphernalia
were found in his vehicle during a secondary inspection
at the Peace Arch port of entry. While the individual
was in custody for drug related charges, he was found
to be in possession of numerous pawn slips from another
jurisdiction. The law enforcement agency for that jurisdiction
was notified.
March
5: A resident in the 700 block of A Street reported her
daughter had been struck in the back of the head by a
rock. The child did not see which direction the airborne
rock came from. An officer checked the area for other
children in hopes of determining if the rock had been
thrown or possibly batted into the play area. No information
was found that led to a suspect. The child received minor
injuries and was treated at the hospital and released.
March
5: The police were asked to check on the welfare of a
young boy in the 700 block of Peace Portal Drive. The
complainant reported the child was sick, and it was possible
he was not being properly cared for. Officers found the
boy in the custody of his father who stated the child
had been sick for two days. Medics were called to check
on the boy and although he was found to have a temperature,
it was determined home care was appropriate.

that was driving up and down their street and honking
the horn. When officers arrived the suspect vehicle was
gone, but the occupants were identified and talked to.

that they’d
arrived to pick him up, but the friend was not
home. Officers warned the driver about disturbing the
peace. The driver agreed to cease bothering the neighborhood.
March
4: Officers responded to a 911 hang-up call at a residence
in the 600 block of 9th Street. Officers arrived and
discovered several individuals had been in a verbal
altercation. A fight allegedly ensued, but officers received
several different versions of the incident from the people
who were present, making it difficult to determine who
had hit whom. One involved a juvenile who fled the scene,
and was later located by officers. It was determined
he had attempted to stop the fight; however he did
have a warrant from Whatcom Juvenile Court for a probation
violation. The 17-year-old was arrested on the warrant
and transported to juvenile detention. Further investigation
by the officers led them to believe that the actions
of one individual had started the fight that resulted
in the disorderly behavior by the group. Charges for
disorderly conduct against the 23-year-old man will be
forwarded to the prosecutor for review.
March
3: A resident of Colorado reported he had received a
letter from a company allegedly located in Blaine advising
him that his application for credit had been denied.

The caller wanted a report for informational purposes:
No theft had yet occurred.

an ongoing truancy problem involving siblings who have
