Custer homeowner shoots intruder. At about 5:45 p.m. Sunday evening, a Custer homeowner shot a man who allegedly tried to break into a nearby storage building, according to the Whatcom County sheriff’s office.
Semiahmoo insurance rates back to normal. The Semiahmoo fire station has once again been officially recognized by the Washington Surveying and Ratings Bureau (WSRB).

The Washington State Parks and Recreation Commission invites middle and high school students to enter artwork into a contest that features depictions of why salmon matter.
