May
12: While out walking in the 9400 block of Semiahmoo Parkway
a citizen found what she thought was a handgun in the weeds.
It was determined to be a pellet gun. The gun was impounded.
May 12: Officer observed two vehicles travelling 120-plus
mph northbound on I-5. Drivers were contacted and arrested
for reckless driving and given a mandatory court date.
May 12: A passerby told police of a verbal dispute at a
motel in the 1300 block of Peace Portal Drive. Officers
responded and provided scene control while a tenant moved
out.
May 12: Officers contacted a citizen in the 500 block of
D Street in reference to a complaint about an equipment
driver using his driveway to turn around. The complaint
was settled by the contact.
May 12: An officer stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation
on an I-5 on-ramp. A routine check revealed the driver was
suspended. He was cited and released. His vehicle was impounded.
May 11: Someone pulled a doghouse into the intersection
at D and 11th streets. An officer moved the doghouse out
of the street. No suspects were located and no vehicles
were damaged.
May 11: Officers responded to a report of unsupervised minors
drinking in a home in the 1000 block of Adelia Street. Four
18-year-olds and nine teenagers were found in possession
of alcohol and/or consuming alcohol. Case report referred
to prosecutor for review and charges.
May 10: Officers stopped a vehicle in the 1500 block of
Mitchell Street for speeding in the school zone. A routine
check showed the driver was suspended. Officers arrested
the driver and issued him a criminal citation. His car was
impounded.
May 10: A citizen reported juveniles smoking marijuana in
the 600 block of F Street. Officers investigated and determined
that marijuana was not being smoked. Officers made contact
with the juveniles and a parent.
May 10: Police received a report that a man in the 400 block
of 9th Street was heard yelling at a dog, and a loud bang.
Officers contacted the dog owner. The dog had knocked over
a garbage can. The noise was him yelling at the dog and
replacing the can.
May 10: While off duty an officer observed a person driving
in the 800 block of Alder Streetwho he knew to have a suspended
drivers license. The officer forwarded charges for
driving on a suspended license to the prosectors office.
May 10: An officer assisted a student in the 100 block of
12th Street in retrieving her missing school books from
a tree house.
May 10: Officers responded to a report of a DUI driver with
a suspended drivers license in the 200 block of Marine
Drive. The vehicle was not occupied when it was located.
Patrol officers notified to watch for additional violations.
May 10: A 47-year-old man was contacted in the 2200 block
of Odell Street for failing to stop at a stop sign and was
found to have been drinking. The driver was arrested and
cited to Blaine municipal court of driving under the influence.
His vehicle was impounded.
May 10: Officers cited five young adults for possession
of alcohol by consumption in the 9200 block of Semiahmoo
Parkway. Several juveniles were also contacted and charges
will be referred to the prosecutors office for minors
in possession of alcohol.
May 10: Citizen reported finding two male juveniles lurking
behind the elementary school. When asked what they were
doing, they ran away. Border Patrol agents assisted Blaine
police in locating the boys. They were sent home.
May 9: Officers responded to a report of a possible suicidal
female in the 800 bock of Mitchell Street. Officers found
there had been a verbal domestic dispute. The female left
the residence.
May 9: Officers responded to a report of a domestic assault
in the 700 block of E Street. The subsequent investigation
determined one subject was the most aggressive participant.
Subject was arrested and booked into jail for domestic violence
assault fourth degree.
May 9: Officer observed a driver acting in a suspicious
manner in the 2000 block of Peace Portal. Officer made a
traffic stop and found the driver was DWLS 3rd. Driver processed
and released. Vehicle was towed to Crown Towing.
May 9: A Blaine resident reported his bicycle was stolen
in the 700 block of Peace Portal while he was inside eating
a cafe. Report taken.
May 8: Officer stopped a vehicle at Bell Road for no tail/stop
lights and found the driver had switched vehicle license
tabs. The driver was issued traffic infractions for the
violations. The license tab was impounded.
May 8: A citizen contacted the police concerning two vehicles
which were parked on his property in the 400 block of 8th
Street without his permission. Officer called the phone
number in the windows of the cars and instructed the owner
to remove them.
May 8: A citizen in the 700 block of A Street reported that
her 14-year-old daughter had run away from home. She believed
that her daughter may be in danger. The girl was entered
into law enforcement database as a runaway. Case under investigation.
May 8: A Blaine officer contacted a 28-year-old man on a
motorcycle in the 800 block of D Street. An impaired driving
investigation was completed and the man was arrested and
cited to Blaine Municipal Court for DUI and DWLS/R 3rd.
May 7: A student waiting for the school bus in the 8900
block of Semiahmoo Parkway left her backpack on the side
of the road and went to get a friend. When she returned
her backpack was gone. Officers checked the area and could
not find a suspect or the backpack.
May 7: A person walking saw a backpack under a parked vehicle
in front of a business in the 200 block of C Street. He
checked the business and no one knew who the owner of the
backpack was. Officers checked the backpack and booked it
for safekeeping.
May 7: A person telephoned police regarding an abandoned
vehicle next to her property in the 1200 block of Runge
Road. The vehicle was not stolen and officers were unable
to locate the owner.
May 7: Officers responded to a noise disturbance in the
700 block of 3rd Street. Officers arrived and found a couple
had been arguing. The female had returned to Canada. No
crime.
May 7: Individual reported that he had accidentally left
a bank card in an ATM machine at a business in the 200 block
of G Street. Subject then gave erroneous information about
the cards whereabouts and refused to return it to
him. A similar incident had occurred one year earlier.
May 7: Officers assisted the Boarder Patrol, US Customs
and the WIN Team with the arrest of five males who transported
marijuana into the US from Canada. Commercial amount of
marijuana was seized. The five males were booked. .
