No
idle hands here!
Bessie
Andrews, Lenore Westman, Mary Onyon, Elaine Murphy and Elinor
Blakely of Blaines Deborah Rebekah Lodge #321, a charitable
society affiliated with the Oddfellows, got a thank you
certificate from American Forests for their 20-tree donation.
The donation was made as a memorial to all Blaine fishers
and the trees will go to repair damaged areas in national
forests.
The Rebekah lodge meets twice a month to organize fundraising
activities to benefit local and national causes. Last year
they donated funds to the Blaine food bank, the senior center,
the boys and girls club, the utilities for needy families
program, the Blender youth center, and the American Arthritis
and Visual Aid Foundation. We try and keep a lot of
it within our community, the need is here Onyon said.
It might not be a lot but if everybody did a little
it would make a lot of difference.
The lodge meets at the senior center the second and fourth
Monday of the month at 1 p.m. Call 332-4412 for more information.
