January
14: Officers responded to a complaint of truant juveniles
at a residence in the 1300 block of 4th Street. Officers
discovered one student missing classes. The parent was notified
of the complaint.
January 13: Officers discovered a juvenile runaway
in possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. The items
were impounded and the case will be forwarded to the prosecutor
for review.
January 12: Officers stopped a vehicle for speeding.
A computer check showed the driver had an outstanding felony
warrant out of Tacoma. He was arrested and booked into jail.
January 12: Officers investigated a hit and run accident
that left damage to a city traffic circle at Harrison and
Steen streets. The case is under investigation.
January 12: An officer stopped a vehicle for a traffic
violation and discovered the driver had been drinking and
was over the safe limit to drive. His vehicle was impounded
and he took a taxi home.
January 12: A business in the 200 block of D Street
reported a dine and dash. Officers located suspects with
the assistance of the Blaine K9 unit. The juvenile suspects
were arrested for the theft and released to their parents.
January 11: An officer responded to a report of a
motor vehicle accident in the 1700 block of H Street. The
officer found a two-car injury accident. One driver was
issued an infraction.
January 10: An officer responded to an aid call of
a man experiencing chest pains in the 400 block of Martin
Street. The officer assisted medics by applying defibrillator
pads. The patient was transported by medics to the hospital.
January 10: An officer investigated a complaint of
someone driving through the lawn in the 400 block of Cherry
Street. The case is under investigation.
January 10: Officers responded to a pedestrian who
had been struck by a vehicle while he was in a crosswalk
on state route 543 and H Street. The pedestrian was treated
at the scene and released. The vehicle driver was cited
for failure to yield to a pedestrian.
January 9: Officers received a report of a gas and
dash in the 1300 block of Boblett Street. Officers checked
the area and were unable to locate the suspect.
January 9: Officers saw a person walking in a residential
neighborhood late at night. The person was contacted and
stated he was enroute to Dennys Restaurant.
January 8: U.S. Customs reported a driver who was
possibly delusional at the Peace Arch POE. An officer spoke
to the adult female and determined she was capable of driving
and was coherent.
January 8: A business owner reported unknown person(s)
had broken the back door of the victims business in
the 200 block of H Street. There was no property stolen
or damage other than the door. There are no suspects or
witnesses.
January 8: A citizen in the 900 block of Peace Portal
Drive reported finding suspicious parcels of food left on
his property. The citizen was concerned that the food was
tainted and meant for his dog. The officer found no indication
of foul play. The food was possibly transient leftovers.
January 8: An officer received a report of a hit
and run in the 1400 block of H Street. The officer took
statements from the victim. The case is under investigation.
January 8: A business in the 600 block of 8th Street
reported a company vehicle had been hit by another unknown
vehicle in the parking lot of the business. There are no
suspects or witnesses to the hit and run. Cosmetic damage
was suffered by the company vehicle.
January 8: Officers received a domestic violence
report from the victim of an assault in the 1500 block of
D Street. The suspects location is unknown. The case is
being referred to the prosecutor for charges.
January 8: Officers were asked to check on two juveniles
who were stranded in the area. They live in Mexico and were
denied entry into Canada. Officers were unable to contact
their parents and took them to a juvenile safe house..
