February
11: U.S. Customs detained two subjects during an outbound
inspection. One subject was arrested for felony possession
of narcotics, resisting arrest, and malicious mischief.
He was booked into Whatcom County Jail.
February 11: Officers were dispatched to a possible
physical domestic assault in progress in the 9500 block
of Semiahmoo Parkway. Officers determined no assault had
occurred and learned a citizen attempted to detain a subject
that may be DUI. The driver was not located.
February 10: An officer stopped a motorhome for weaving
in and out of lanes at H Street and the state route 543.
During the stop the driver admitted to having switched plates
with another vehicle. The subject was issued an infraction
and released.
February 10: An officer contacted a subject in the
1300 block of 4th Street and discovered he was in possession
of drug paraphernalia. The subject was issued a criminal
citation and released.
February 10: Officers stopped an individual who failed
to stop at a U.S. Customs check point at Lynden POE. It
was discovered the subject was in possession of marijuana
and issued him a criminal citation.
February 9: Aid responded to a man with a reduced
level of consciousness in the 300 block of Alder Street.
Aid requested officers verify the scene was safe prior to
entry. Officers stood by with aid units and then transported
the subject to the hospital.
February 9: An officer stopped a vehicle for a traffic
violation in the 1200 block of Yew Street and found two
of the passengers under the influence of alcohol. One passenger
was a juvenile and the other was a minor. The juvenile was
transported home to her parents.
February 9: Emergency units responded to a report
of a suicide attempt in the 700 block of Peace Portal Drive.
An officer and medic personnel arrived and found a 59-year-old
Arizona man despondent, succumbing to self inflicted wounds.
On scene resuscitation efforts failed.
February 9: A car occupied by a lone male had followed
four teenagers into town from Birch Bay. An officer followed
the teenagers home. The suspicious vehicle was not located.
February 8: A citizen reported losing his yellow
lab in the 1500 block of H Street several days ago.
February 8: Officers received two warrants from Whatcom
County Juvenile Probation for a resident in the 9900 block
of Canada View. The person was taken into custody without
incident and transported to juvenile detention.
February 8: An officer found the southbound travel
lane blocked on I-5 near mile post 274 by two dolphins,
a bear, and the Taz. The officer removed the stuffed animals
from the roadway.
February 7: Officers responded to a verbal domestic
in the 1100 block of Mary Avenue. Officers separated the
two adults and one subject chose to leave for the evening.
No crime.
February 7: A citizen in the 200 block of B Street
reported smelling an odor similar to kerosene in the air.
Officers checked the area but were unable to locate the
source of the odor. The odor dissipated quickly.
February 7: An officer responded to an aid call in
the 300 block of H Street. The officer discovered a female
had twisted her ankle. The officer stood by until medics
arrived.
February 7: Officers responded to an accident in
the 1000 block of H Street. A truck driver damaged a street
sign while attempting to turn around in a parking lot. A
report was generated for informational purposes.
February 7: A Blaine officer observed graffiti on
a street sign, a fire hydrant, and two light poles in the
700 block of Peace Portal Drive. The suspect used red spray
paint to vandalize city property. Repairs were estimated
at $50.
February 6: Blaine police responded to a 911 hang
up call in the 9000 block of Semiahmoo Parkway. Officers
conducted an investigation and determined a domestic dispute
had occurred. The case will be forwarded to the prosecutor
for review.
February 6: A person in the 300 block of D Street
reported a nuisance phone call. The incident was documented
for informational purposes.
February 5: An individual violated a protection order
by making contact with the petitioner both over the phone
and in person. The violation was witnessed by an Everett
police officer. Charges were forwarded to the prosecutor
for review.
February 5: A citizen in the 700 block of Boblett
Street reported her vehicle was taken without permission
by a relative listed as a runaway. The vehicle was recovered
later in the day at the Birch Bay outlet mall.
February 5: Anonymous complaint of an erratically
driven vehicle in the 300 block of Alder Street. Officers
were unable to locate the vehicle..
