First day of school for kindergartners
A kindergarten parent orientation meeting is scheduled
for April 18 at 6:30 p.m. in the Blaine primary school multipurpose
room. Children who will be five-years-old on or before August
31, 2002 are eligible to enter kindergarten in the fall.
Parents will have the opportunity to enroll their child
for the 2002-2003 school year.
A copy of the childs birth certificate is required
for proof of age. Washington state law also requires proof
of immunization status. Parents will meet staff members
and the kindergarten teachers to discuss classroom policies,
transportation and the kindergarten program. There will
be an opportunity for parents to ask questions regarding
kindergarten. The school encourages parents to pre-register
children from April 18 through June 21 for the fall enrollment.
Preschoolers who will be entering kindergarten are invited
to visit the kindergarten classrooms on April 25 from 10:30
a.m. 11 a.m. The kindergarten teachers will read
the children a story and talk to them about some of the
activities they will be doing next year. .
