The Editor:
Kudos to Mr. Ely for showing just how truly spineless he
really is, when addressing the issue raised by Ms. Lawrence
about the two faces of the council on shopping Blaine first.
Instead of being a true representative of the people of
Blaine and answering her problem himself, he passes the
buck down to Chief Elfo. Chief Elfo makes his recommendation
to the council and they have the power to say no! We must
support our local businesses and even though it may cost
a little more we deserve to help our local people stay afloat.
Dont pass the buck Mr. Ely, stand up and take responsibility
for your actions, for shopping outside of Blaine. You approved
the budget and its expenses, so dont blame Chief
Elfo for submitting his proposal on bids he received.
Ms. Lawrence is right in her assessment of Blaine, the council
is driving businesses out, and its all of the councils
fault because your still throwing money faster than its
coming in.
