in the second half, Blaines Eli Dugger and Nooksacks

Blaines
Krista Walter whiffed 13-of-17 Trojan batters as she tossed
a one-hit 12-1 NCC fastpitch victory over Meridian on March
29 at the Pipe. The Borderite bat brigade augmented Walters
arm du jour performance, going 12-for-24 at the plate.
Holly
Strickler went 3-for-4, rapped out a couple of doubles and
drove home five runs for the Lady Bs. Jynessa Trennepohl,
who collected 2 RBIs, also went 3-for-4 and Sirita Lawson
was 1-for-3 with 2 more RBIs for Blaine.
Despite
out-hitting Lynden Christian 11-5, Blaine dropped a 6-5
decision to LC on March 25 at Lynden C. Stickler again went

Seventh
inning stretch to win
It was a dream week for Blaine
as Gary Clausens crew twice came from behind in the
bottom of the 7th to win a pair of NCC baseball games, defeating
Mt. Baker 10-8 on March 29 at Deming and 6-5 on March 28
at the Pipe.
The
Borderites tossed in a 9-2 non-league win over Lynden on
March 25 at the Pipe to get things started.
Down
8-5 in the final frame, Blaine combined five walks, a wild
pitch, an error and a single to score five runs to take
lead in the Deming duel. Grant Sanders, who blanked MB over
the final four frames, stopped Baker in their half of the
7th for the win. Craig Anderson (3-for-5, 2 doubles, 3 RBIs,
3 runs scored), Kyle Green (2-for-4, a double), and Laird
Dickie (1-for-4, 2 RBIs) were the premier batsmen.
Although
out-hit 8-2 by Mt. Baker in the March 28 match, Blaine cobbled
together sufficient statistics of the winning kind
runs to win 6-5. With the tilt tied 5-5 in Blaines
half of the 7th, Anderson singled, stole second, took third
on a groundout and scored the winner on a wild pitch. Craig,
who relieved starter Laird Dickie in the sixth, got credit
for the win.
Bryan
Galbraith picked up the win in the Lynden game. Galbraith
(2-for-2, 3 RBIs), Dickie (2-for-3, 3 RBIs), and Green (2-for-4,
a double and RBI) led Blaines bat barrage.
