The Regional Long Term Care Ombudsman program has set the date and location for the next volunteer training, and is urging individuals in Whatcom, Skagit, Island and San Juan counties to consider becoming a volunteer.
Volunteer ombudsmen visit long-term care facilities and advocating on behalf of the residents.

The next training will be held in Mount Vernon on October 15, 16, 23 & 24 (four days). Sessions run from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. Interested parties should contact the Regional Ombudsman, Doug Lafferty, at the Northwest Regional Council in Bellingham 360/676-6687 or toll free at 877/966-2837.
