REPORTS October
21: Officers responded to the Peace Arch POE for an individual in possession
of marijuana. The individual was arrested and released with a court date. October
21: Officers received a report of theft of gasoline in the 1300 block of H
Street. Officers will contact his suspect by mail regarding the complaint. October
21: A person was arrested and issued a citation for possession of a small
amount of marijuana at the Peace Arch POE. October 21: Officers assisted
a Whatcom County Sheriffs deputy by providing back up for a possible DUI
in the 7600 block of Birch Bay Drive. The deputy arrested a subject for DUI. October
20: A complainant reported a white powdery substance inside a payphone in
the 1300 block of Boblett Street. Officers suspected it was the same substance
that was found last week in the payphone. The payphone was closed pending further
investigation. October 20: Officers assisted the fire department by
responding to an aid call in the 600 block of Boblett Street. A small child was
very congested and had a fever. Officers were cleared after the fire personnel
arrived. October 20: Officers on patrol were flagged down by a security
guard in the 100 block of Marine Drive. The guard informed the officers of a report
of a man stealing a compass off of a boat. Officers checked the area and were
unable to locate the suspect. October 19: Officers were contacted by
a juvenile who found a shotgun shell in a parking lot in the 900 block of H Street.
Officers located the owner of the shell and advised him to secure his ammunition
properly. October 19: Officers received a report of a train blocking
an intersection on Marine Drive for an extended period. Officers contacted train
personnel and a Canadian Customs agent. The train moved on after that. October
19: A 15-speed purple girls mountain bike was reported stolen from a friends
house on October 8. There are no suspects at this time. October 18:
Officers received a report of telephone harassment in the 1100 block of Harrison
Street. Officers contacted the complainant who stated her ex-boyfriend threatened
her life. The complainant was advised to obtain a restraining order. The case
is under investigation. October 18: Blaine police responded to a fight
in progress at a residence in the 1000 block of Adelia Street. Officers arrested
one adult female for assault with a knife. The victim reported no injuries. The
case was referred to the prosecutor for possible assault charge against another
male. October 18: U.S. Customs reported a man driving with a suspended
drivers license at the Peace Arch POE. An officer confirmed the mans
license was suspended. The man was arrested and released with a court date for
the offense. The vehicle was impounded. October 18: Officers attended
a motor vehicle accident at the intersection of Bell Road and Peace Portal Drive.
A vehicle travelling south on Bell Road railed to yield the right-of-way to a
vehicle travelling on Peace Portal Drive. October 17: An officer responded
to a non-injury reportable motor vehicle collision at Boblett and state route
543. One of the drivers was issued an infraction for failure to yield the right-of-way
from a stop sign. October 17: Officers confirmed a Blaine warrant for
Anacortes police. The individual was arrested and booked into Skagit County Jail
