They're coming

Immigration and Naturalization Service brass have announced that 100 border patrol agents would be reassigned to help ease congestion along the northern border.

Carolyn Muyzka, INS deputy regional director for the west coast, told listeners at a border business conference in Bellingham that 21 of those agents would come to the northwest for vehicle inspections. “Our top priority right now is national security and the result has been increased wait times,” she said. “We are very keen to the impact this has on business and commerce every day and I look forward to seeing decreases in wait times with the deployment of additional resources.” Muyzka added the use of national guard troops at border crossings to increase security and reduce waits was also being discussed.
