Helping
hunger The Editor: The Blaine Food Bank is in need of
volunteers. With the coming holidays, much help will be needed. Volunteers are
involved in a variety of ways here at the food bank including: packaging food
into family sized portions, distribution food to food bank clients, warehouse
sorting and organization, cleaning, maintenance, and special projects.
We
welcome any interest you may have in helping the hundreds of hungry people who
rely on our resources each month. Please contact the manager at 500 C Street in
Blaine or call 332-6350. The need is great. We
await your communication. Thank you for your attention to this request. John
McParlin, food bank manager Blaine
Thanks... The
Editor: I wish I could thank you all in person for showing all the support
and caring for my girls and me at the benefit which was thrown for us. Blaine
has always been a supportive community for me, but I was and still am overwhelmed
by the benefit, cards, letters, and calls I received. I want to thank everyone
for all the help, support, caring, and of course, the hugs everyone has given
my daughters. I worry about them night and day, and miss them more than I can
handle some days. It helps to know that you are all out there helping me watch
over them.
Thank
you so very much because they are the most important thing in the world to me.
I wish I could personally thank and hug each and everyone of you. Thank you, Blaine,
for being such a wonderful, caring community. I miss you all so much. Vicki
