The threat of another rate hike this year for Blaine
City Light customers has been lifted. After reviewing
their financial results for the third quarter of 2001, Bonneville
Power Administration managers have decided it will not be
necessary to issue another five percent cost-recovery adjustment.
This Saturday, October 6, is the last day Whatcom County
voters can register to cast their ballots at the polls
for the November general election. Absentee ballots will
be available starting October 17 and can be obtained at
the county courthouse until November 5. For information
contact the county auditor’s office at 676-6740.
