BAY BUILDERS
Great kids doing great things, from Cherry Point to the Peace Arch

Sponsored by BP Cherry Point Refinery
Here at BP Cherry Point Refinery, we believe our society is enriched through the energy and community involvement of our children. We are pleased to present a monthly look at a few out of the many local youths in the Blaine School District who enhance our society and our lives.

Chelsea Swearinger,
8th grade

Chelsea is a very bright, kind,
intelligent student and excels in her schooling. She is eager to help anyone in any way she can. Just recently, Chelsea along with her family designed and made
beaded pins, as seen in her photo, with all of the proceeds going to the Red Cross. She has sold over 200 so far.
Tylor Alphenaar,
7th grade

Tylor works hard in class and is a true delight to see everyday. Daily he can be
counted on to be positive and to demonstrate
enthusiasm for learning. His sense of humor, intelligence, inquisitive nature and
willingness to share ideas impact the people around him in a positive way. He is a peer mediator and enjoys skateboarding, volleyball and basketball.
Katya Schmidt,
3rd grade

Katya is a true friend to all of her classmates. She treats her fellow students with kindness and fairness. She always comes to the aid of a student when they need emotional support. Katya is also a very conscientious student. She takes a challenge to heart and never gives up.

Justin Belding,
1st grade

Justin is always kind and helpful to his peers and he never fails to do his best on everything. His confidence and enthusiasm shows as he handles social tasks such as speaking to a group or showing parents around the classroom.
Michael Mones,
11th grade

Michael is a new student this year from New York, but he has already made an impact in a lot of positive ways. He is an excellent
literature student, a creative writer and an obsessive reader. Michael has a superior singing voice and performs with the school concert choir. He recently shared his patriotic rendition of The Star Spangled Banner at two volleyball games. His deep voice is absolutely beautiful!
Jamie Fisher,
12th grade

In her first year as an Annual staff member, he has brought creativity, artistic talent,
enthusiasm and leadership that will be instrumental in producing a quality yearbook. She has a great attitude and a motivation that transcends most seniors at this time in their educational career. She is taking AP art, and she is working hard at school and at home. She is focused on improving her skills. She has set high standards for herself. She is an inspiration to students who see her efforts and finished works of art.
