May
20: U.S. INS at the Peace Arch POE reported a male in
possession of methamphetamine and a loaded handgun in a
vehicle. Officers determined that the crime occurred in
Canada and Canada Customs was handling the matter.
May 20: U.S. Customs reported a suspended California
driver at the Peace Arch POE. An officer arrested the adult
male for DWLS/R 3rd and possession of marijuana. The male
was released pending court appearance. The car was impounded.
May 20: An officer responded to a possible car prowl
at a residence in the 2400 block of Dodd Street. The drivers
side window of the car was broken but nothing stolen. It
is not believed that the incident was criminal possibly
an object accidentally struck the window.
May 20: Officers received a report that someone was
riding a four wheel ATV at high speeds in the 600 block
of A Street. Officers contacted the male who admitted riding
the bike. He agreed to stop riding on the city street.
May 20: A U.S. Customs inspector intercepted a motorist
with a suspended drivers license at the Peace Arch
POE. A Blaine officer investigated, cited the driver to
Blaine court and impounded the vehicle.
May 20: An officer was sent to the Peace Arch POE
regarding two subjects who were in possession of marijuana
and paraphernalia. The subjects were arrested, cited and
released. The drugs were seized and booked into evidence.
May 20: Officers stood by in the 500 block of G Street
while an ex-husband and ex-wife argued about retrieving
their sons bicycle from the rear of the property.
The child got his bicycle and the argument was settled.
The family is splitting up.
May 20: King County sheriffs department requested
a Blaine officer confirm an outstanding Blaine municipal
court warrant. The subject of the warrant was arrested and
booked into King County Jail. The warrant was cleared from
WACIC.
May 19: A business in the 100 block of 12th Street
reported four adult males yelling obscenities inside the
store. Officers spoke to the males who were disputing change
given from the store. The men calmed down, realized their
change was correct and left.
May 19: An officer received four warrants for a subject
who lives in the 400 block of D Street. Officers made contact,
placed him under arrest and transported him to WCSO without
incident. The warrants were removed from the system.
May 19: An officer assisted a U.S. Customs inspector
at the Peace Arch POE who contacted a driver without a license
in her possession.
May 19: Officers stopped a driver who failed to stop
for a stop sign and discovered the driver was impaired.
The driver was arrested and cited to Blaine municipal court
for DUI. The vehicle was impounded.
May 19: A resident in the 5500 block of Canvasback
reported someone unscrewed his wooden mailbox valued at
$55 from the post and stole it. The mailbox may be identified
by the address on its side. The theft may have occurred
at 4 a.m.
May 18: U.S. Customs at the Peace Arch POE reported
a driver without a license. An officer investigated and
cited the driver for NVOL and no proof of insurance.
May 18: A business owner reported that a woman presented
a check on a closed account. The business reported a loss
of $23.50. The case was referred to the check diversion
unit of the prosecuting attorney.
May 18: A business owner in the 700 block of Peace
Portal Drive reported that a man presented three checks
on a closed account. The business reported a loss of $270.
The case was referred to the check diversion unit of the
prosecuting attorney.
May 18: An officer recovered a bicycle which had
been thrown off the Mitchell Street bridge onto the median
of the freeway.
May 18: Officers received a complaint of phone harassment
in the 500 block of G Street. Officers are waiting for statements
from both parties to determine if charges will be filed.
May 17: An officer responded to the 2000 block of
Peace Portal Drive regarding a motor vehicle accident. The
officer found a two car accident without injury. A report
was taken.
May 17: An officer went to the high school in regards
to a student who was in possession of a marijuana pipe with
residue. The student was placed into custody and later released
to a parent. Case referred to juvenile authorities.
May 17: An officer responded to the 9900 block of
Canada View regarding a suspicious subject driving up and
down the street. Contact was made and the subject was found
to be illegally in the U.S. The subject was released to
Border Patrol agents.
May 16: The lead custodian asked two juveniles who
were skating on school grounds to leave. The children became
hostile with him. When he told them that he was calling
the police, they left. Officers unable to locate them.
May 15: A resident in the 900 block of 9th Street
observed a man and woman violate a no contact order. The
complaint was called in after the suspects left town. An
investigation is in progress.
May 15: Police responded to a report of an impaired
driver who was having trouble staying on the road in the
1500 block of Peace Portal Drive. Officers observed driving
violations, investigated, and arrested the driver for DUI.
The vehicle was impounded.
May 15: A father was letting his children drive his
riding lawn mower on a city street. Officers contacted the
father and explained the safety issues. The father apologized
and said he would keep them in the yard.
