March
6: A burglary occurred at a business in the 600 block
of Peace Portal Drive. About $200 was stolen from a cash
register. The case is under investigation.
March 5: A citizen reported witnessing an assault
to an infant child that occurred the day before in the 900
block of Blaine Avenue. An officer took statements and checked
the infant for signs of injuries. No injuries were observed.
The case was forwarded to child protective services.
March 5: Someone broke into a car in the 200 block
of Marine Drive and stole a small black backpack containing
about $1 and a tupperware container. Another vehicle was
also broken into, but nothing was stolen.
March 5: Officers took a report of an assault between
neighbor kids in the 300 block of Alder Street. A young
boy was complaining of stomach pains. An officer requested
an ambulance to check the boy. Officers spoke to the parents
of all the children involved.
March 5: A vehicle was broken into in the 200 block
of Marine Drive and coins stolen.
March 5: A person was arrested in the 1500 block
of H Street for possession of heroin and cocaine. He was
booked into jail.
March 5: A vehicle failed to stop for inspection
at the Peace Arch POE. The individual was caught in Bellingham
and returned to U.S. Customs. He was found in possession
of a small amount of marijuana. He was cited for possession
and released.
March 5: A person driving south on I-5 at about mile
post 276 said two juveniles were throwing rocks at cars.
The driver said the juveniles were on the first overpass.
Officers checked the area, but the juveniles were gone.
March 4: Offices were dispatched to the Peace Arch
POE in reference to a stolen vehicle. An investigation showed
that the driver had legally purchased the car. The reporting
agency did not wish to file charges. The driver was released.
March 3: A victim reported someone stole her checkbook
and has been forging her name on the checks. The victim
stated she does not have any suspects at this time and she
will get the police department a copy of the forged checks.
March 3: The owner of a vehicle called to report
his vehicle had rolled over a curb and high centered while
he was getting the newspaper. There was no damage to the
car or any property. The vehicle was towed.
March 3: An anonymous person called to report suspicious
activity in the 1600 block of Peace Portal Drive. The officer
found a male subject drunk behind the wheel of a vehicle.
The man was arrested for physical control.
March 3: Officers were dispatched to a domestic violence
in progress in the 1100 block of Mary Avenue. Officers arrived
and found the suspect had fled the scene. Officers are attempting
to locate the suspect.
March 2: Officers contacted a group of juveniles
in the 400 block of 9th Street trying to set gas on fire
in the middle of the street. Officers talked with the juveniles
about safety and attempted to contact their parents.
March 2: An individual reported several children
left at home in the 1400 block of Bayview unsupervised.
An adult was located to babysit. The matter will be referred
to CPS.
March 2: Two children reported a suspicious person
in the laundromat who frightened them. A Blaine officer
took the children home and advised their parents of the
incident and contacted the man in the laundromat. An investigation
is in progress.
March 2: U.S. Customs reported they were questioning
a male subject who had 5.2 grams of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.
The subject was cited and released.
March 2: Two individuals in the 1500 block of Bayview
reported receiving an extremely threatening telephone call.
The case is under investigation.
March 2: An individual reported being the victim
of a fraud that is being operated on the internet and through
a post office box in Blaine. The complaint was referred
to the U.S. postal inspector in Seattle.
March 2: A local business sin the 1500 block of H
Street reported a man tampering with their gas pumps. The
man was gone when police arrived. The clerk got the mans
license plate number, but no evidence of damage was located.
March 2: A purple/black boys mountain bike was found
in a ditch in the 1300 block of H Street. The bike was impounded
for safekeeping.
March 1: Officers contacted four individuals in the
1500 block of H Street. Two of the individuals were sneaking
around closed businesses. Officers discovered that they
had entered the U.S. without reporting to immigration. They
were turned over to U.S. Immigration.
March 1: A theft of building material consisting
of green metal sheeting, flashing, roof cap, fencing, and
lumber occurred at a business in the 1400 block of Hughes
Street. The case is under investigation.
March 1: A citizen in the 1100 block of Garfield
Street reported two kids mountain bikes valued at
$400 each missing from their residence the prior Sunday.
March 1: A citizen who was intoxicated and walking
home flagged down an officer and requested a ride home.
The officer provided the ride.
February 28: A citizen reported that he allowed a
person to park a car on his property and the person has
not been back to get the car. The citizen was given information
regarding a private impound.
February 28: Dispatch reported a female subject wanted
to turn herself in for domestic violence assault against
her husband. An officer arrived and met with the female
subject. The officer arrested her for assault for domestic
violence.
February 28: A thief broke into a business in the
600 block of Peace Portal Drive by shattering a glass door.
An empty cash register was taken and destroyed nearby. The
thief apparently cut his/her hand in the burglary. Nothing
else was taken. The case is under investigation.
