to teach local fishing secrets
By

Jim
Jorgensen has a fish story or two hed like to share
with local sport fishers.
Jorgensen,
who has operated a charter service for 34 years, is conducting
his salmonar for the 26th year. I not
only enjoy fishing,,but sharing things with people,
he said. Its fun sharing ideas with people and
its fun listening to their ideas.
The
six-session class meets on Mondays 7 to 9 p.m. at the high
school starting March 26 to learn how to read charts, tie
knots, outfit a boat and use different methods such as mooching,
jigging and downrigger trolling. People have felt
it was beneficial in catching fish, rigging up a boat, learning
places to go and what tackle to buy, Jorgensen said.
I cant say Ive had anyone say they wish
they hadnt taken the class.
The
class will also discuss different species, salmon habitat
and political facets of salmon preservation. One session,
led by local fisherman Steve Jones, will also focus on bottom
fishing.
To
reserve a spot, call Jorgensen at 332-6724. Cost is $70.
