Blaine
treasures at home show

Imagine
standing in front of a beach, with sandy cliffs in the distance
and a weather beaten fence off to the side; birds flit about
in the cloudy sky and just the sight of the water reminds
you of the ocean airs salty bite.
This
is one of two scenes muralist Jill Nymeyer recreates in
her booth at the 22nd annual Whatcom County Home Show this
weekend at the Northwest Washington Fairgrounds in Lynden.
Nymeyer will showcase her decorative painting, including
murals and faux finishes, in the booth. Her services are
available at Bayside Treasures, her shop on Peace Portal
Drive in Downtown Blaine.
Its
a good form of advertising to get your name out there,
she says. Theres a lot of people out there that
want this kind of work and dont know were there.
Nymeyer
also paints accents for homes and furnishings, and sells
smaller items at her shop. One of her more visible pieces
is the fishing harbor scene inside the Portal Cafe.
Nymeyer
has been crafting murals and other decorative paintings
for two years; she has operated Bayside Treasures for four
years. She has also painted artistically for about eight
years.
Nymeyer
said she hopes the time she put into her booth will pay
off when people see what she can do. Ill probably
have 50 hours into just the display alone, she said.
